The dirt crew spent 12 hours out there cutting down the track,
and forming up the jumps and marking off the basic layout of the
off road track. Sunday on road racing had a decent turnout with
a few guys making the trek over from Austin to race. Off road
track will be compacted soon and pipes will be laid down.

Lights are complete and functional on the on-road track.
Electricity has been ran to the outlets on the on-road drivers
stand. The shop has been completely outfitted with all of their
stock.
June 22, 2003
Electricity is up and running on the on-road pit tables. Six
1500 watt halogen lights have been installed around the on-road
track with the final wiring being completed early this week.
The hobby shop has the inventory on the shelves and on the wall,
mostly electric parts but their big off-road 8th scale order is
due in very soon. Another veteran racer will be coming out on
Friday evening to cut down the off-road track about 6-8 inches
and the Lunatic crew will be using that dirt to form up the
layout. The goal is to have the off-road track completed
sometime on the 29th. The Lunatic crew has been receiving tons of
phone calls and visitors from just passing traffic whom have
never seen an R/C race and already seem very interested.
This location will definitely bring in a lot of new addicts like
ourselves to the hobby.

The on-road track is 100% complete with racers planning on
showing up on Saturday for their first run on the track. The
off-road track has been graded and more dirt will be brought in
tomorrow so that the crew can begin working on the layout. An
auger was rented so that they could dig all of the post holes
for the cover pit area framing. Compressed air line header was
installed on the on-road pit tables. The main air compressor will
be located away from the pit area and lines branched off the
header will be available for racers to use.

Had the on-road layout completed, just needed to pipe to be tied
down. The on-road drivers stand was completed by the time I left
and the off-road stand (7 foot tall) was half way done. Tony got
all of the dirt prepped on the off-road track for the tractor guy
to come in on the next day to put the final grade on it with a
box-blade. The main sign has been put in place at the front of
the property and already their phone has been ringing off the
hook from people inquiring about both the R/C track and the
paintball field. There are already a few on-road guys planning on
coming out on Wednesday to try out the new asphalt...

Lunatic Hobbies has
built an off-road track that measures 110'-0" wide by
60'-0" deep and also added a super smooth on-road asphalt
track that measures in at 123'-0" wide by 63'-0" deep.
Electricity has been ran to the main pit area and they plan to
build a covering over all of the pit tables to help shelter us
racers from the hot Texas sun. Lights are also planned to be
installed around the track for some night time summer racing
action. A paintball field will be added behind the off-road
track and Lunatic Hobbies will carry many paintball supplies and
rental equipment for weekend warriors.
